It's obvious that the Saddam 'threat' was spun out of thin air, and its purpose was twofold--first, to divert attention from how far south this country has gone since the Supreme Court's decision, and to preserve the perception of Bush as a strong wartime president. I got annoyed at seeing the mainstream media ignoring the economy, the scandal and the poverty that Bush has wrought in favor of more war--it just seemed that war was pushing everything that mattered out of the way.

Allen Ginsberg is in fact, an embodiment of culture, having been in his lifetime a purveyor of some of the best stuff that had been thought and said in his world. So too, in our time, are innumerable painters, sculptors, musicians, DJ's, filmmakers, actors, and so forth. The real counter-culture, the real enemy of human creativity, is the bureaucratic, corporate state, and its tools, that wishes to restrict our access to the fruits of human creativity.
